The Phantom of the Opera is set to cast its spell on Taiwan once again, arriving in 2026 with a special 40th anniversary production featuring an upgraded sound and visual design.
The global classic, which first premiered in 1986 in the West End, remains one of the world’s most beloved musicals, famed for its sweeping score, dark romance, and memorable staging.
The production runs for 155 minutes and is complete with the famous falling chandelier, mirror-lined underground lake, and opulent opera house scenes.
As well as Taipei, the production will also be staged in the cities of Kaohsiung and Taichung, marking its first-ever three-city run in Taiwan. It will be performed in English, with Chinese subtitles.
