The Rock 'n' Roll Taipei Running Festival is less a race and more a moving concert, blending running with live music across the course.

First launched globally as a music-led race series, the Taipei edition follows the same format, with live bands and performance stages set up along the route, according to the fitness website Fitz.

Runners can choose from a half-marathon, 10 km, 3.5 km, or 1.2 km kids run, with the event starting in the late afternoon and stretching into the evening along the Keelung River.

But even if you’re not running, it’s still worth heading down. The finish area turns into a full outdoor concert and market space, and you can catch live performances, watch runners come through, and enjoy the festival vibe without ever crossing a start line, according to Rock 'n' Roll's website.

It’s one of the few events in Taipei where sport, live music, and a night market-style setup all collide in one place.
