Taiwan International Balloon Festival 2026
Sunrise launches and night glow shows in Taitung County

The Taiwan International Balloon Festival 2026 returns for six weeks this summer, and while the 2026 schedule has not been released yet, hot air balloons are typically launched twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening, weather permitting, according to the festival website.
In past years, evening tethered glow shows — where balloons stay grounded and light up in sync with music — have also been held on select nights.
The festival takes place in Taitung County's Luye Highland, where wide open fields and coastal winds create great flying conditions.
As always, conditions on the day will determine whether launches go ahead, so visitors are advised to check the official festival website for the latest schedule and updates before planning their visit.
Tickets are required for tethered balloon rides, in which visitors can step into the basket and rise a short distance off the ground while the balloon remains secured by ropes, according to the festival website.
