Taiwan International Documentary Festival
Independent stories from Taiwan and beyond

The Taiwan International Documentary Festival (TIDF) returns for its 15th edition from May 1 to 10, with screenings held in venues including the Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute, SPOT Huashan, and Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab, according to the Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute, which organized the event.
The biennial festival features around 100 documentary films from Taiwan and abroad across a range of categories, including international, Asian, and Taiwan-focused.
The programming leans toward films dealing with social issues, human experience, and formal experimentation, with organizers emphasizing documentary as a space for reflection and dialogue.
This year’s festival opens with Death Is Certain but Not Final vol. IV, while one of the key focus programs centers on Palestine and archival memory, reflecting the festival’s interest in politically and historically engaged work.
Beyond screenings, the festival runs interactive talks and panel discussions.
Tickets start at NT$120 per screening, or NT$420 for a six-film package, with all screenings operating on a first-come, first-served basis. For more details, head to the TIDF website.
