Three Daan brunch restaurants worth checking out
Slow mornings in the trendy upscale neighborhood

In recent years, brunch has grown into a booming social ritual around the world. The mid-morning meal is not just about food, but about slowing down and spending quality time with friends and family.
The global trend has firmly taken hold in Taipei, particularly in Daan District — a hip, well-to-do area popular with students and young professionals.
In early 2026, This Is Taipei visited three stylish brunch spots serving international dishes and high-quality coffee, each catering to diners looking for a slower, more relaxed pace than is typical at most Taiwanese breakfast eateries.
#1: Tamed Fox
Hearty portions and healthy bowls to start the day

Tamed Fox is located down a residential alley in Daan District and serves classic brunch dishes alongside healthier plates, good coffee, and smoothies. It's popular and often fills up quickly, even during the week.
If you're ravenous, This Is Taipei recommends the Hungry Breakfast Plate (NT$410). The sausage patty is particularly good, and the avocado portion is generous.
The Avocado Toast (NT$360) — a pile of beetroot hummus (and a lot of it), scrambled eggs, halloumi, sweet potatoes, salad, and avocado piled on top of a piece of sourdough — was also tasty when we visited in December 2025.
For those looking for something lighter, salad bowls are available, including the Miso Ginger and the Zesty Garlic Shrimp, which start from NT$400.

The staff were friendly and spoke good English. You order at the counter, and food and drinks are brought over. The menu is bilingual.
Tamed Fox is relatively small and can get quite loud, but there is a quieter area in the back. The interior is nicely decorated, with a few walls filled with photos of cute dogs, and yes, dogs are welcome.
It's open every day from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with last orders at 4:30 PM. It's about a 10-minute walk from either Daan and Xinyi Anhe MRT stations. There's another branch in Xinyi District, which is much bigger, but also gets busy.

#2: Sincere Rays
A taste of Australia's cafe culture in Taipei

Sincere Rays is an all-day brunch restaurant that recently moved to Daan District.
The new space — it was previously located near Xinsheng Park in Zhongshan District — is bright, airy, and filled with plants. Soft music plays quietly in the background.
If there are two of you, This Is Taipei recommends you order the Big Breakfast (NT$980) — a huge platter heaped with smoked salmon, eggs, bacon, yogurt, avocado, tomatoes, halloumi, toast, bacon sausages, salad, and hash browns.
For those looking for something lighter, the Eggs Your Own Way On Toast (NT$120) works well.

Coffee-wise, the chunky honeycomb latte (NT$190) almost feels like a meal in itself. The long black (NT$145) is also strong and does the job.
Staff are friendly and speak English well. You order via QR code on the bilingual menu.
Sincere Rays is open from 8 AM to 5 PM every day, apart from Mondays when it is closed. It's about a five-minute walk from either Daan or Technology Building MRT stations.

#3: Stoppage Time
Where good food meets unhurried service

Stoppage Time is a relaxed brunch cafe with great food and attentive service.
When This Is Taipei stepped inside in July 2025, we immediately felt at ease. The open-plan layout gives visitors a full view of the spotless kitchen and staff working calmly behind the counter. Service is attentive — they'll practically refill your water as soon as you take a sip.
That being said, when you enter Stoppage Time, you agree to operate on their schedule. Staff will come and take your order when they're ready. This means you could have to wait a long time for food. Absolutely nobody working there appears to be flustered, so you shouldn't be either.
Everything is made easy for non-Chinese speakers. All of the menus and signs are bilingual, and most servers speak English.

In addition to regular tables for groups, there’s a large white-tiled communal table, where you may be seated as a solo visitor. There’s also a smaller room at the back with single-person tables and stacks of magazines.
The brunch menu is extensive. The avocado toast (NT$280) goes down nicely and comes with either bacon or halloumi. Lattes are priced from NT$150 and the iced hazelnut latte (NT$170) is refreshing on a hot day.
Stoppage Time is open every day between 11 AM and 10 PM and is about a five-minute walk from Technology Building MRT Station.
