Cafes around Yongkang Park worth a visit
For when you need a breather at the tourist hotspot

The area around Yongkang Park in Daan District is one of Taipei’s most popular neighborhoods. It's packed with cafes, dessert spots, restaurants, small art and clothing shops, bookstores, and craft beer bars.
On a typical afternoon, the sidewalks are busy with visitors drifting between shops or trying to decide where to rest their weary legs.
When you need a pause or a caffeine fix, we recommend checking out one of these cafes in the area.
#1: Buzi Cafe
Sip a coffee and watch the world go by in this rustic-feel alley cafe

Buzi Cafe is a cute little coffee bar in an alley toward the northwestern end of the Yongkang Street.
It’s a tiny place, with seating unusually centered around a table that spans the indoor–outdoor boundary. It’s a wonderful refuge for a contemplative caffeine hit on a good-weather day or a quiet conversation with a friend, but it's not so suitable for larger groups.
With limited seating, great coffee, and hordes of tourists milling by, you won’t be surprised to learn that it can be hard to grab a seat. Buzi Cafe doesn’t take reservations, so you may need a little luck to get in.
Once inside, you’ll enjoy a rustic feel with wooden surfaces, leafy plants, and craft items on sale. The bilingual menu is easy to navigate, and you order at the bar.

Considering the Yongkang Park area is a tourist magnet, americanos are reasonably priced here at NT$100 and lattes at NT$120. There are single-origin options at a higher price point, and desserts, just as you’d expect.
This Is Taipei recommends venturing elsewhere in the area for serious food, but pizzas are on the menu here, starting from NT$160. And if it’s too late for coffee, there are fruity Taiwanese craft beers for NT$200 a bottle as well as a couple of imported British ales for NT$250.
Buzi Cafe opens from 10 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday, and 10 AM to 9 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

#2: Youmou to Ohana Coffee
A good setup for longer study or chill sessions

With its dark wood interior, brick walls adorned with movie posters, jazz music humming in the background, and shelves stuffed with books and CDs, Youmou to Ohana Coffee is a great place to relax, study, or catch up with a friend.
There's also a pleasant outside area. It is covered, but conversations can sometimes get a little loud.
The menu is wide-ranging, with americanos starting from NT$140. There are also "tipsy coffees" on offer — Bailey's Latte (NT$190) really hit the spot on a cold December morning.

There are also a variety of cakes to choose from, and cinnamon rolls available for NT$150. For those wanting something more substantial, the menu includes Beef Bourginon and Butter Onion Chicken (NT$190 each).
If you're looking to settle in for the day, every table has access to charging points, and there's no time limit. Despite being a couple of streets away from main tourist thoroughfare, it can still get busy, so you may have to wait a while to be seated.
Youmou to Ohana Coffee is open every day from 11 AM to 10 PM.

#3: Sounds Good Cafe
The coffee is expertly roasted, but it's the music that takes center stage

Sounds Good Cafe is small, cozy, and steeped in music obsession.
The place riffs on a retro “His Master’s Voice” theme, with a top-tier sound system. Hundreds of records line the walls, from common classics to rare finds, and you can pick one to put on.
The interior is warm and homely, packed with music memorabilia and thoughtful details. Look down, and you’ll spot handwritten notes on the floor marking key years, favorite songs, and moments in music history, including milestones like the arrival of Spotify. It feels less like decor and more like a diary.

The coffee is impressive. The brown sugar latte (NT$190) was top-notch, and the americano (NT$160) was strong and aromatic. There are also desserts, fried snacks, and cocktails, which are NT$30 off when ordered with a main course.
Servers are friendly, English is spoken, and the atmosphere is welcoming, though there’s a two-hour limit when it’s busy. This is more a place to listen and linger than to power through work. Reservations are a good idea.
Sounds Good Cafe is open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM.
