Baosheng Culture Festival
A blend of ritual, performance, and neighborhood spirit

The Baosheng Cultural Festival is a two-month celebration held each spring at Dalongdong Baoan Temple, honoring Baosheng Dadi, the Taoist god of medicine.
It is one of Taipei's most vibrant religious and cultural events, blending traditional rituals with contemporary folk arts, according to the Taipei City Government.
One of its most striking moments is the “fire lion” ritual, where a lion-shaped structure packed with fireworks is ignited to drive away evil spirits, according to the Dalongdong Baoan Temple official website. There will also be ceremonies and opera.
The celebration will also extend into the community with art competitions, academic forums, and awards recognizing contributions to healthcare.
If you’ve got a free evening on the weekend, it’s worth heading over and seeing what’s happening. The schedule isn’t fixed, so no two nights will feel quite the same.
