Taipei isn’t short on slick, expensive cocktail bars, but sometimes you just want to sink pints and make friends with strangers somewhere loud, informal, and mildly deranged.

Enter the dive bar.

Revolver, a smoke-filled live music haunt with gigs most nights, is the city’s best-known late-night spot. Cheap pints, a loyal crowd, and a steady run of bands keep it buzzing, though it can get packed on weekends.

In early 2026, This Is Taipei scouted three other spots across the city that are ideal when you want the night to keep going without fighting your way to the bar.

#1: Another Brick

Banging tunes, new friends, and board games

Another Brick is small, but it does the job. The playlist is full of classics from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, keeping the energy high. It's an easy place to meet people and strike up conversation — especially after a few drinks.

The place feels a bit scrappy. Posters and memorabilia cover the walls, there's a random fish tank, and the graffiti in the toilets is slightly unhinged. Downstairs, there's an extra space that hosts events, including drag shows.

The food is simple — popcorn, pitta and hummus, fries, quesadillas, and other bar staples. Pints of Taiwan Beer cost NT$110 during Happy Hour, which runs every day from 5:30 PM to 9 PM. IPAs are around NT$250.

Another Brick is especially popular with international students and language exchange crowds, and there are cards and board games dotted around. There's also an outdoor area with two sofas.

Another Brick is open from 5:30 PM to 1 AM Sunday through Thursday, and from 5:30 PM to 2 AM Friday and Saturday.

#2: The Pub

The Pub is an Irish-themed spot with Guinness on tap and walls covered in 20th-century Western pop culture posters and memorabilia.

Happy Hour runs until 9:30 PM, with bottles of Heineken buy one get one free, and Guinness and Kronenbourg 1664 buy four get one free. (You can mix and match.) On draft, they have Orion (NT$150), 1664 (NT$260), and Guinness (NT$260). Prices are pretty standard for Taipei and the Guinness also tastes decent.

Music is inconsistent, swinging from odd, AI-feeling playlists to Britpop classics you've not heard for a while. Sports are also usually showing, in particular baseball, football, and Formula One.

There's a range of food on offer, including bar snacks, pizza, and full meals, though nothing is served on Sundays.

Staff are friendly and tend to remember regulars. Some nights it’s quiet, some nights it’s packed.

The Bar is open from 6:30 PM to 4 AM Monday to Saturday, and 8:30 PM to 2 AM on Sundays.

#3: Bar Stardust

Where the night spirals into early morning

Bar Stardust, which blends a Japanese coffee shop with a Western dive-bar atmosphere, is a good shout if you're looking to drink late into the night.

The music is firmly non-mainstream. Rock ’n’ roll, alternative, and left-field picks blast out. The lighting is dark, the walls are lined with dolls, Japanese movie posters, and odd figurines.

Cocktails are strong and creative. The Long Island Iced Tea (NT$350) is sweet, sour, and easy to drink. The Earthquake (NT$350), made with gin, whisky, and anise, is no joke and nearly blew our heads off. The staff clearly know what they’re doing behind the bar.

If cocktails aren’t your thing, there’s Orion draft beer at NT$180, plus live music and sometimes DJ sets.

Bar Stardust stays open late, every day from 8 PM to 4 AM, making it a reliable end-of-night option. When you pay, you even get a free shot.

In conclusion...

Loud music, cheap drinks, and nights that somehow drift into the early hours. If you're looking for a long night, these spots deliver.
