Hot, sunny weather and possible afternoon thunderstorms are expected Thursday, with a high-temperature advisory in effect, according to a forecast published at 7:21 AM by Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration (CWA).

Temperatures in Taipei will range from 27°C to 36°C during the day, with a 40% chance of brief thunderstorms developing in the afternoon, the weather agency said. Conditions could range from comfortable to hot enough to raise the risk of heat-related illness.

You may want to carry an umbrella while outdoors, even if skies are clear earlier in the day. The CWA also advises using sun protection and drinking plenty of water.

Skies will turn partly cloudy to mostly clear overnight and early Friday, with temperatures between 27°C and 32°C and a 20% chance of rain, the CWA said.
