Curated by Nobuo Takamori, Fallenstadt: The Rise and Fall of Cities explores how cities adapt to war, climate disasters, industrial change, and other major disruptions.
Bringing together artists from Taiwan, South Korea, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Syria, Romania and beyond, the exhibition examines urban life through video, installation, photography, and multimedia works.
Visitors will encounter stories ranging from the demolition of historic buildings in Bucharest and the Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong to e-waste settlements in Ghana and communities affected by industrial transformation in Taiwan.
