Taipei Marathon
The city's biggest race takes over the streets before sunrise

The 2026 Taipei Marathon will take place on Saturday December 20, with full and half marathon races starting from Taipei City Hall and finishing at Taipei Municipal Stadium, according to the Taipei City Government.
Roads across central Taipei will be closed as the course passes major landmarks. Spectators are welcome, and every year they line wide boulevards and gather at key points to cheer on runners.
Registration is competitive and tightly structured: priority entry for qualified runners usually opens in early July, followed by general marathon registration in mid-July, which closes by late July and is decided by lottery, according to the Taipei City Marathon website.
Entry fees in recent years have been around NT$2,200 for the full marathon and NT$1,600 for the half, with 2026 pricing yet to be officially confirmed. In previous years, runners have been able to pay nearly NT$10,000 to bypass the lottery and secure a guaranteed spot.
More details on specific dates will be provided as and when they become available.
