Taipei Xia Hai City God Cultural Festival 2026
Markets, talks, performances, and a major procession
The Taipei Xia Hai City God Cultural Festival runs from June 13 to July 5, celebrating one of Dadaocheng’s biggest traditional events.
The festival centers on Taipei’s “Greeting the City God” procession, which takes place on June 27 this year, according to the Taipei City Government.
This year’s festival also includes exhibitions, a water procession, markets, performances, and talks. The program brings together traditional faith with themes such as fair trade, LGBTQ+ equality, menstrual equity, environmental friendliness, language equality, and Indigenous place-name recognition, organizers said.
Visitors can experience both the spectacle of the festival and the traditions behind it, while also exploring Dadaocheng’s historic industries and local culture.
